St Erth

ST ERTH is a pretty village in the west of Cornwall, a mile inland from the north coast town of Hayle, and five miles from the famous resort of St Ives.
The village is on the River Hayle, and has a shop, a post office, a church and The Star Inn pub.
St Erth Station, just outside the village, is on the main Penzance to Paddington railway, and is the starting point for the St Erth to St Ives branch line, which is one of the most beautiful and scenic railway lines in the country, with breathtaking sea and estuary views.
Birch Cottage, at Jericho, is 400 yards from St Erth Praze (praze is Cornish for meadow), which is just over a mile from St Erth, and is made up of about a dozen houses, a pottery and a pub, The Smugglers' Inn.
